Topic: New News Press Release Released  (Read 2215 times)

New release of the leading way of releasing news in the release industry.

February 23, 1855 -- Press Release Inc. have announced the release of their new Press Release format which is available immediately for anyone who wants to 'release' something to the press.

In the past 12 months, over 250,000 companies and individuals have released information to the press. To accommodate this growth, an easier to use Press Release format has been released which contains, amongst other things, an initial paragraph explaining how the events leading to the press release came about.

The press release will then continue with more in-depth details of the subject of the press release, to be written in third person as if to imply it was not written by those releasing the press release. Press Release Inc. designed this aspect of the press release format to allow press releases to be easily transferred word for word into journalistic pieces.

"An important part of the press release format is the quote," said Patrick McMillister, Director of Development at Press Release Inc. "The quote gives the press release a personal touch, as if the quoted person dropped into the press office and had a lovely chat. Even though the quotes will have been carefully considered word for word, and possibly not even spoken by the attributed source, but rather a marketing department. They will, in fact, have little in difference to the rest of the press release."

A few little kinks remain in the press release format, such as the possibility of overly verbose quotes, but with a short and succinct last sentence summarising the key points, they can often be saved.

The new press release format is available for use now.

Awesome. Apparently this will be the default template on Games Press when you create a new press release. Seriously.

Wow, this is big.

It feels like there should have been a countdown, or something. Was there a countdown?

Shhhhh....

(I fucking hate it when that happens)

I was embarrassed enough when I opened that link the first time around and realised how similar it was, and was glad to see it dribble off the first page, thanks for resurrecting it :p

Hey, throw enough comedy coconuts and one of them will eventually probably be someone else's coconut that you picked up earlier and forgotten about, right? Right?

I need to do a press release tomorrow for the Wytches Brew release. I will use this template, but am looking for advice on who I should actually be sending it to (besides the already mention Games Press). Any suggestions?

RockPaperShotgun, Eurogamer, IndieGames Blog, Kotaku, Joystiq, Destructoid, BluesNews, VG247, Gamespot, IGN, 1up (do they still exist?), WorthPlaying, GameTrailers, ByteJacker, TIGsource, DigitalSpy. PCZone, PCGamer (UK, US), EDGE, Games TM, whatever 'foreign' mags you have there in Whereverville, US, plugging the "IM A CANADIANS" angle.

Then go to Metacritic, find GTA IV and start going down the list sending everyone who reviewed it a review copy and a nice email.
