Remember, first, if you're stuck: it always helps to examine stuff around you and in your inventory, try talking to characters again, wander around where you've already ben to see if anything new catches your eye, or have a chat with the Dan character.
EDIT: There's now a
hint-through and walkthrough
here with chapter-divided spoilers for anyone who wants to avoid spoilers in this thread for bits they haven't done yet.
But please feel free to ask a question without checking if it's already been asked - we don't mind repeating ourselves!

what is hand-shaped that I can smear shit all over? I tried a few of the balloon shapes, to no avail... And I tried giving it to PAL, but since I woke him up, he hasn't been useful for anything!

Have you tried using
the hand in your inventory? What doesn't work, and why? Pay attention to what's said, and see if you can figure an alternate solution.

Right, I'm
Stuck in the clock at the moment, I've poured the hip flask into the generator, took the pin off the board, got the plug in
but can't seem to do anything else.
I've gone
to the computer and played the game, there's an option to make a boot disk but I have no disk
. So umm, yeah, stuck.
