Oh hey, what’s going on with the next installment of Dan and Ben, then?
Let’s just say there was a high-powered EMERGENCY business meeting last night, in a pub, and as a result we have completely changed the plot and design to Revenge of the Balloon-Headed Mexican. What felt like a great idea initially didn’t map out so nicely in terms of puzzles or pacing, so instead of pressing on regardless and releasing something we weren’t happy with, we’ve gone back to square one and re-jigged everything.
Fortunately, being Indie means you’re allowed to take reckless, stupid decisions like completely starting over.
What the hell does all this mean, though? The new plot is infinitely more special, unique and interesting, which means it’s now going to be triple-brilliant… but it’s also now not going to be out till next year.
In the meantime… I dunno. You could buy another copy of Time Gentlemen, Please!, I suppose and play it through choosing a different path and see if it makes any difference?

After the game’s out will you tell us the old plot?
I was just wondering whether you’ve reached a solid RRP for the episode?
Cannot wait for 2010 to come now!
How about you release the original plot synopsis and offer a prize to the first person who makes a complete game that follows it, regardless of its quality? And host that game on your site, of course.
Just thought I’d mention: your games are easier to play with Swine Flu, as I’ve discovered this week. Well, today.
I find this rather worrying, yet feel as if I’ve somehow stumbled onto the start of a great Secret of the Universe. Or of the Internet. One of those. They may be the same thing, as this point.
I fully support you in this decision. Far too many games that could have been great have been ruined by publishers rushing the developers to finish up the game on schedule. Well, schedule be darned. I finished Time, Gentlemen, Please! this afternoon and will wait patiently til the next installment is released. Make it as good as we know you can!
Just as long as you don’t end up overhauling everything as many times as 3D Realms…
Finally got around to finishing TGP today (I bought the steam bundle a while back, then got stuck on the second game)
Honestly, I’d say you guys are my favourite indie devs. More so than 2DBoy.
With all that said, I wish you the best of luck with the new episodes, and given your ability to speedily make these games, I doubt you are going to “go all Valve” on us any time soon.
Take your time and release a brilliant game ASAP!!! GODDAMNIT!!!
Can’t wait to play the third installment :D The first two were great. !! :D
Ich vill totally buy ze 3rd B&D-Game. I really enjoyed BTDT and TGP.
Had some great laughs and got stuck many times :-)
As a german i really liked all ze german vords in TGP, hopefully there vill be some in RTBHM ;-)
Don’t forget to make it a proper 3rd act in an adventure game series by adding keyboard movement and extraneous quicktime events …grumble..broken sword..grumble..
Sounds good. Just letting you know: I will buy it day one, regardless of price.
YOUR GAMES ARE THE BEST WUHUUHUU , still both in my top 5 !! This is the REaaaal Shit Wuhuuuu. You make my life !
Just thought I’d notify you guys that I adore your games and want your babies.
