Time Gentlemen, Please! has been out for a few weeks now, and the reviews have been rolling in. They’re uniformy overwhelmingly positive, which is both heartening and extraordinarily exciting.
If you’re still unsure as to whether to part with a whopping £2.99/ $5ish for this full-length comedy adventure, maybe some of these professional reviews will help sway you…
“…excellent scripting, consistent, cartoony design and delight in overtly, overly referential absurdity…even the Telltale titles are clunky and formulaic compared to the anarchistic invention of games like this… 9/10”
-Eurogamer.net
“Puzzles, dialogs, game flow - all this is through and through exemplary and more mature than most big adventures on DVD [which are] at least ten times the cost. 9/10”
-Eurogamer.de
“pitch perfect comedy writing…they truly understand how to exploit the genre’s strengths… an indie masterpiece.”
-Wired
“Indie Pick of the Week… fans of the genre won’t want to miss it… full of British wit, adult language … and the esoteric puzzles we all know and love.”
– IGN.com
“Time Gentlemen, Please!… slays me. [it] not only some really brain-wrenching puzzles but humor that feels as sharp and inventive as I’m sure LucasArts classics felt back in the day… If you’re a fan of adventure games at all… just get it.”
-Joystiq [review]
“…this is the Sam & Max follow-up I’ve been waiting for. Simply – Time, Gentlemen, Please is the best point and click adventure game in years.”
-RockPaperShotgun
“Time Gentlemen, Please! is a love song to the old day of adventure gaming … it bypasses most of the old problems and gets straight to the nitty gritty of a good adventure game: superb writing.”
-BigDownload
“Incredibly British, with a mix of witty banter, silly animations and hilarious facial expressions… not only the best adventure game I’ve played in a very long time - it is one of the best adventure games I’ve played. Ever.”
-IndieGames.com
“…a playground for just about every type of humor that is likely to get you ousted from civil society… The writing is simply wonderful… bigger, better, harder, and raunchier than the original by a mile. 4.9/5”
-JayIsGames.com
There’s many many more ‘after the jump’.
“Time Gentlemen, Please! is like a clever and completely bonkers British sitcom of an adventure. Genuinely funny and incredibly charming, for a mere three quid it’s terrific fun, and easily holds its own against the might of Lucas’s best. 4/5”
-DigitalSpy
“Time Gentlemen, Please! is 8-10 hours of the best old-school, LucasArts-style adventure gaming this side of 1993. It’s even improved on the old formula in a few subtle but important ways. This game is simply a delight and would be a steal at ten times the price.”
- GoViolet
“The sequel is better done in almost every way. The graphics are clearer … the writing is snappier, the music is great and the plot is just as ridiculous as ever… It’s hilarious, zany fun. The sequel to one of the best recent comedy adventure games, and it still manages to improve on it.”
- GamersWithJobs
“…little details really help to set the game apart from the competition… if you enjoy witty dialogue either in or out of games, you’ll probably have a great time playing through Time Gentlemen, Please. And really, for $5, just go buy the damn game and support these awesome developers.”
- PixellatedGeek
“…the dialog in Time Gentlemen, Please is both well written and funny… it’s off-kilter, charming, and a bit gross at times… but at least for those not easily shocked, it’s excellent fun, and reinforces my belief that the best work in modern adventure games is being done by indie developers.”
- PlayThisThing
“The puzzles in TGP are almost uniformly a joy to solve… so, Time Gentlemen, Please has actually funny comedy, needlessly intricate and ingenious puzzles, and a plot featuring both Nazis and dinosaurs – surely such a game is exempt from any criticism one might place upon it?”
- ThoughtShake
“You’ll find Time Gentlemen Please to be one of the most imaginative, inventive and hilariously crude point-and-click adventures you’ll ever play.”
-PC Games and Reviews
“Time Gentlemen, Please!” can be best described as a top-notch independent game.”
-Examiner

Congratulations guys, it’s praise well deserved.
Oh crap, I’ve bought the game instead of getting review copy.
The game is good though, so I don’t feel stupid.
Don’t think you’re interested in russian reviews anyways.
TOTALLY interested in Russian reviews! The more reviews the better!
Send me a link, please! :)
Sorry, don’t know when the website guys will adapt the article. It will go to the printed magazine first.
I’ll send you scans when it will come out. =).
Sweet, thanks :)
Does Dan do more that switch the light on and off in this one?
Also, now that you are charging, you might as well put it on steam, right?
Dan definitely does more in this one, yeah…! And Steam would be lovely, naturally. That’s their call, though…
Have you guys seen your review in PC Gamer UK?
It’s beaming with praise. 87%, “Funnier than any game in years, and delightfully rude. Point-and-click adventuring done right for a change”.
Yep, it’s an awesome review. I’ll do another of these blog posts soon with yet more reviews.
Simply the best p&c adventure ever. Very, very, good writing. Kudos!!!
Aside from the obvious things, one reason I love your adventure games is that it really feels like you’re on the player’s side. You’ve obviously played a lot of adventure games, noted what works and (probably more importantly) what doesn’t, and then made an effort to spare your audience from the common annoyances.
Hurrah, thanks guys!
:D
Personally I thought this game was rubbish… dunno what all these positive reviews were on about. Wait… what do you mean this isn’t the Daikatana website. Oh… Time Gentlemen, Please you say. Oh in that case… brilliant reviews completely warranted. ;)
You guys got a review in this month’s PC Gamer UK too. You might wanna slap that up here, just sayin’, I won’t force you too, it’s all up to you guys in the end, do what you like, I’m sorry I said anything, GOD!
[...] with the prequel Ben There, Dan That for a tidy $4.99 (£2.99). I enjoyed it rather a lot (and so did many others) so if you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, at least give the demo a [...]
